Garden Boots

Those of you who know me well know that I am a lover of shoes (and boots).  I believe a proper shoe or boot completes an outfit.  As I am getting summer stuff put away and pulling out things for the next season I discovered that I have accumulated quite a garden boot collection.

I came to own my Le Chameau boots by happening on a sale and picked up these boots for $25 when they normally retail for $160.  I had no idea that I was getting a huge bargain and am thrilled to have them.  They fit perfectly and hold up well.  I use these when we are out on the Flowage eradicating the invasive Purple Loosestrife.  They are perfect for splashing through a foot of water and comfortable.  They are also pretty handy when we are putting boats in and out of the water.

Sloggers are my go-to slip-ons for working in the garden, mowing the lawn, or getting the mail.  I am much more comfortable having a fully enclosed foot when working with shovels and lawn mowers than I would be with a clog-style slip-on.

My L.L. Bean waterproof shoes stay in the car and come in handy when I stop by a garden or need something to keep my feet dry on a rainy day.

My newest addition to the shoe wardrobe are these beauties by Cougar.  Made in Canada, they are stylish, completely waterproof, and comfortable.  I use these when I travel because I have gotten tired of having wet feet when visiting foreign gardens.  These are lightweight for packing and look good enough to wear on city streets.
As the saying goes:  There is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing.  I believe that goes for footwear as well.
What are your favorite garden shoes or boots?
